DESCRIPTION
Yuki is a 20-year-old college sophomore who has wished for one thing since moving to Tokyo: to find her soulmate. Growing a bit desperate after a long drought, she goes along with a friend to a club for the first time. Her friend thrives, but it's chaotic and loud... just not Yuki's scene. Just when Yuki begins to despair that she'll never ever find a real, adult relationship, she meets Iori, a man with bleached hair and a slightly scary demeanor… but first impressions don't always tell the whole story. Could destiny still have more cards to play?

20/100Predictable, cliché, and painfully boring. I made it halfway through, but never cared about the romance or charactersContinue on AniListThe typical shy, innocent girl who has never had her first kiss and has only had one crush in her entire school life. Then, out of nowhere, she meets an incredibly handsome guy that every girl seems to want, and what attracts him to her is precisely that innocence and her idealistic idea of wanting to find the love of her life.
The male lead is also exactly what you would expect from this kind of romance: cold, super cool, very “nonchalant,” and apparently someone who has never genuinely fallen in love before. But suddenly, the girl he met a few days ago might actually be The One. Sure. Oh, and of course he also has family trauma that explains why he acted like a playboy and never took relationships seriously. I truly never saw that coming.
To be clear, I do not automatically dislike clichés. I actually enjoy predictable romances when the characters are charming enough or when there is good chemistry. The problem here is that neither the characters nor the story managed to grab me at all. Everything felt way too familiar, and not in a comforting way. It felt like I had already seen these exact characters and this exact dynamic many times before.
The heroine is innocent, inexperienced, and easily flustered. He is handsome, popular, emotionally unavailable, and intrigued because she is “different.” Their dynamic just did not do anything for me. I never reached that point where I was invested in them as a couple or genuinely curious to see how their relationship would develop. Instead, the story started feeling repetitive very quickly.
What bothered me the most was how monotonous it all felt. I was not excited, surprised, frustrated, or even particularly annoyed. I was just bored. Honestly, I would rather read a messy romance that gives me something to react to than one that leaves me feeling completely indifferent.
I ended up dropping it around halfway through the chapters that were available when I read it. I am not even sure whether the manga is finished now, but I do know I gave it more than a fair chance. This was not one of those cases where I read three chapters and immediately quit. I genuinely pushed myself to keep reading because I thought maybe the characters would grow on me or the story would eventually become more interesting.
It never did.
I know there are people who really enjoy this kind of story: familiar tropes, the cool guy falling for the innocent girl, and nothing too unexpected or complicated. Sometimes you just want something simple and predictable, and I completely understand that. If that is what you are looking for, maybe this manga will work much better for you.
Not for me, though. I made it halfway, and by that point I was completely sure I did not care enough about the characters or their relationship to continue. Maybe it improves later, maybe it does not. Either way, for me, this was an easy drop.
