DESCRIPTION
“You useless son of mine! You were supposed to pull master swordsman, but I never thought it would be this tragic!”
The day a child turns fifteen, they undergo the Ritual of Divine Blessing. Already descended from a line of master swordsman, Elymas was supposed to succeed his father. However, he pulls the defective class, the Heavy Knight, and not only loses his status as future head of the household, but he's also exiled. With their unbalanced stats and seemingly useless skills, Heavy Knights are spoked of as a class for cowards and the lazy. However, Elymas knows the truth. The world he lives in is the same as the one of the game he used to play... It is the Heavy Knight that is the most powerful class of them all. Using memories from his past life, Elymas has set out to effectively conquer this entire world.

80/100Clichéd Beginning, Surprisingly Strong ExecutionContinue on AniList**TLDR; It has its flaws, but it is still an extremely decent read. Go and give it a try!** With a classic, albeit repetitive reincarnation trope where our protagonist begins anew in the body of a noble inside of a world that's the carbon copy of the game he once played, this story starts off with our main character, with the name of Elymas Edvaughn, undergoing a ritual where his class will be determined and lo and behold, it was apparently the worthless class called ‘Heavy Knight’. When in actuality, he claims that it is the most powerful class in Magic World, the game this world was based on. This is when he remembered that this world overflowing with strict traditions doesn’t treat late-blooming classes kindly as he gets kicked out and exiled from his noble family and replaced by a branch family's daughter as heir shortly after. Thus, Elymas begins his journey just like many other copy-pasted overpowered power fantasy protagonists did, accompanied with a truckload of valuable knowledge about the world he was reincarnated in. Setting aside the prologue overflowing with clichés, one good quality of The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System is that not every character can be completely acknowledged as evil or good, they're almost all surprisingly nuanced, fueled by their own interests and motivations. They're also well-polished, never feeling out of place and unique enough that you'd almost never get bored reading their interactions and dialogues with the protagonist and his hastily organized party, who are also a bundle of interesting personalities. About the protagonist, despite his obviously clear advantage of possibly being the most knowledgeable about how the world he was reincarnated in works, you'd be shocked to see that he still struggles and never becomes a cold-hearted, one man army that's just a cardboard cutout of a character. He is still required to work with others, act carefully, prioritize thinking ahead the most and making sure that he never bites off more than he can chew. This fact, in my opinion, is enough to make him a decent protagonist that's entertaining enough to read about and one that you can genuinely enjoy. Another trait that sets this manga apart from other mangas featuring a game-like world is the fact that you'd be hard-pressed to find a similar story filled with such details while still maintaining its game-like vibes and charms. With this story's engaging plotline filled with tension, its distinct artstyle, its interesting world-building packed full of intriguing factions hiding their own fascinating game of politics, its battles not won through brute force but clear tactics, this manga confidently stands out compared to others of its kind. Despite its flawed and constant loops of dungeon diving that others might find annoyingly monotonous, this story is capable of effortlessly carving out its own place as a truly incredible Isekai manga. All in all, The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System is a story that has its evident ups and downs, but if you're a tried and true Isekai fan and someone who hungers for game-like worlds, then I suggest to go have a read of this manga and see if it has what you're looking for. You never know, you might just end up loving it and binge reading until its latest chapter.
