  Weird, violent, confusing, and somehow even better the more questions it asks.

  Coming from a first season that left me with far more questions than answers, Season 2 does something I really appreciated: it starts answering many of those questions, only to immediately open the door to brand new mysteries and some incredibly interesting plot twists. In many ways, this season feels like a natural continuation of everything that made the first one so compelling. Just when you think you're finally beginning to understand how this world works and what is really happening behind the scenes, the story introduces another twist that forces you to rethink everything all over again.

  One of the things I continue to admire the most about Dorohedoro is that the TV show never treats the viewer like they're incapable of putting things together. It doesn't stop every few minutes to explain every little detail or spell out exactly what is happening, which is something that many modern shows tend to do. Instead, it gives you pieces of information, foreshadowing, and subtle hints, trusting that you'll eventually connect the dots yourself. That approach can sometimes make the story difficult to follow, and there were definitely moments where I completely lost track of certain events and had to mentally reconstruct what had happened. Even so, I greatly prefer this style over stories that constantly overexplain themselves. The show respects the intelligence of its audience, and I appreciate that a lot.

  The greatest strengths of the TV show remain its visual design and its characters. Every duo feels completely unique, and every single character that appears feels like they had a tremendous amount of care and effort put into them. It is impossible not to appreciate the creativity behind this world. Nothing feels generic or interchangeable. You can tell that the author invested an incredible amount of passion into making this universe stand out from everything else in the genre.

  What surprised me the most is that, despite the enormous cast, the show still manages to make almost everyone memorable. Whether they are protagonists, allies, or antagonists, nearly every character brings something interesting to the table. The interactions between the different groups continue to be one of the strongest aspects of the series, and many of my favorite moments come simply from watching these characters talk, argue, or work together.

  The artistic direction also feels even stronger than it did in Season 1, which is saying a lot considering how impressive it already was. The bizarre atmosphere, the character designs, the environments, and the overall aesthetic continue to remind me why this world captivated me in the first place. There really is nothing else quite like it. The soundtrack deserves praise once again as well, because it perfectly complements the strange and chaotic nature of the story.

  The story itself only becomes more interesting as it progresses. Every time you think you've finally understood what's going on, the TV show throws another twist at you and forces you to reconsider everything you thought you knew. Somehow, despite being violent, chaotic, confusing, and occasionally difficult to follow, Dorohedoro never stops being entertaining. In fact, that constant feeling of uncertainty is part of its charm. You may not always understand exactly what is happening, but you always want to keep watching.

  At this point, I'm convinced that reading the manga is the next step for me. I'm still not sure whether I'll start from the very beginning in order to experience the original work in its entirety, but one thing is certain: I want more of this world.

  I'm very happy that I decided to give Dorohedoro a chance because it's the kind of TV show that you simply don't see very often. For some reason, it grabs hold of you and refuses to let go, even during the moments when you have absolutely no idea what is happening.
