DESCRIPTION
"Actually, I’m Touko Kirishima."
The audience erupted in excitement upon learning that the true identity of the mysterious, wildly popular internet singer was none other than the nation’s favorite actress, Mai Sakurajima. The scene was exactly the same as the dream Sakuta Azusagawa had seen on Christmas Eve.
Starting with Mai’s shocking confession on April 1, the impossible events that everyone once dreamed of keep happening one after another.
The social media hashtag "#Yumemiru," where dreams come true, has vanished, and as Sakuta struggles with the disconnect between the reality before him and his own perception, he receives a message from a version of himself in an alternate reality.
―Stop Touko Kirishima,
―Before reality is rewritten.
To restore the world to its original state, Sakuta sets out to find Touko Kirishima. This is a story about overcoming the "Adolescent Syndrome".

99/100Truly perfect End of an Anime that we grew up withContinue on AniListThis is my first Review on this Site, it will also be very likely one of very few.
Bunny Girl Senpai.... that catfishing Title is what started my Journey. Back in Summer 2021 i was 15 and had no real idea whats going on, but THIS is what was my very first Anime, that i looked up on the Internet and decided to watch. This show was also one of the reasons I stayed in this Genre!
Now that Sakuta is 20 and "grew up", it feels like he and the story left me behind. 2026 is when He and myself turned 20 but it feels like I'm the one who has to grow up now. Its quite ironic, if we look at the Story of this Movie, that i don't want that yet and i don't feel like im ready to become an adult even tough i already am one.
The ending was beautiful, tough i needed some time to rlly thinking about it (crying my eyes out on the way back from the cinema).
The jucy part:
When Mai announced on Stage that she was Touko Kirishima i felt so bad for Sakuta, he had already done so much and he still wasn't finished. Up until he helped Miori it seemed like a normal BGS story from a Season, not like a grand finally of a Show. But it was pleasant to watch. Learning bout 2 Friends that parted ways in a bad way, with one dying before they can make up is always a hard watch! But its nothing new in Anime, so it was sad but wasn't really heart shattering. After Sakuta helped Miori let go I wished now for some real quality time between Mai and Sakuta, instead i saw his Pink Bunny costume.... GOD was i afraid of this poor dudes safety! Now it really feels like a proper series finale..... he was kinda handing out Chrismas gifts of his own!
Since Sakuta was 19 then turned 20 it does kinda make sense that he'd belive in the Puperty Sindrome like its some known fact. It was the reason he got his 10/10 Girlfriend after all, was a mayor part in his live and he did go through a lot for Mai's sake and for his friends. So it was a really unexpected plot-twist for me. I feared he would go down the "I have to kill myself to save everyone else!" route of despair, but thankfully that wasn't the case. We meet the small Mai again then slowly see this Goat let go of his past in real time. We meet his friends that he helped and see how everyone left there Puperty Syndrome behind them... exept for he himself. Watching him visit some really deep moments in the Story was a rollercoaster of Memories for myself with this Series. It has come FAR, like the animation alone is gorgeous! So now were hit with a classic, but never getting old, time skip. Watching him start to teach as his own school just warmed my heart, he even starting to look out and helping Students with the same Syndrome that he noticed with Mai is just... perfect!
Final scene with a women who looks like Miori walking outa the train and being like "who tf is this staring creep" is just the cherry on top. Tough i secretly wished she'd look back at him, like a familiar stranger, as he played her song.
Final Thoughts:
For me this Show will always have a special place in my heart so i'll defend it with everything i got! Especially the second half of the movie was just a rollercoaster for me. But we see so much of Sakuta with other Girls, it would've been nice if we could've gotten more of him and Mai. There Releationship is really grown up which is pretty rare in anime. But like give us SOME fanservice (like a Kiss) bevor parting ways with us for good..99/100: I refuse to give 100 since my Queen lacks screen time !!!

77/100Rascal does not dream of being a movie finaleContinue on AniListIt would be a lie if I said I still had the same fond feelings for this series as when I discovered the first season all these year ago. Yet still I felt the need to watch all the movies I saw release in my cinema. It was then a truly pleasant surprise then that my screening of this movie was chock full of people. I was always under the assumption that, while popular in anime circles, the series overall would be pretty niche for cinema releases. So while my own love may have weakened I am glad that so many people were willing to see this ending of the series.
Speaking of series, before I get into the meat of the review I have really been questioning if this series works in it's movie format. There are currently more movies than seasons and yet personally I felt only the first one felt like the plot I would be expecting of a movie adaptations. It might be controversial to say, but at many points I questioned why this wasn't a series. Does the pacing make sense for a movie? It sometimes felt like I could see the stingers that would end an episode. Yet of course, it continues. I sometimes got a feeling that was more akin to binging an OVA season than a movie. That said, it does not in any way diminish the writing quality. It only reinforces my own view that there really only needed to be one movie.Speaking of the actual contents of the movie you can almost view it as an original take on the hated cliche of the "dream ending". While this might scare you off, what it really means is that this is a typical coming of age story. Growing up is the focus of this movie. Leaving the puberty syndrome behind. Forgetting it. A very on the nose metaphor for leaving your teenage years. This does not mean the movie resets the accomplishments of previous seasons. But rather recontextualizes the frequency of encounters with the syndrome.
I think the movie highlighted to me the limit in creative approaches the syndrome could have taken at this point. The multiple worlds, the reappearance of the disappearance and the overwriting of worlds, did not seem nearly as interesting to me as when I watched the very first season with it's own oddities. While anyone who has watched both knows you shouldn't compare them, I am reminded of the Monogatari series and its approach when reusing oddities. Rather than developing how the oddities might express themselves, Rascal takes a pretty boring approach of the returning syndromes playing out almost the same as before. The highlight of this movie, like of the series as a whole, is the relationship between Asagawa and Mai. Not only is it sweet, it is always refreshing to see an actual healthy relationship that seems even somewhat believable, even if the super star angle is unlikely. We see many more characters, to a point that you might question if there are too many. And it highlighted to me that the character archetypes seem just a tad too similar across the board. Not being helped by a general similar face syndrome. If we had a few less characters, fleshing them out more might have avoided such problems. Speaking of, the girl to save this time follows a very typical regret over death story. But that is not to say that this version of the trope is not well executed. Here we follow the question what happens when we want the people back in our life that are gone. And I think the answer will satisfy most.
Overall, this is a pretty solid coming of age story. It might be because I do not have the same strong feelings for this series as when I was younger, but it's biggest flaw can definitely be felt it's overall impact. The highs do not feel very high and the movie can feel meandering. A problem I think a series format might not have had. Yet the conclusion does feel satisfying, if maybe just a bit sudden.
