DESCRIPTION

Hideyoshi is a homeless boy living in New York in the near future, who survives by hustling other kids in basketball games. But now he's been drafted into a pro team with a very unique goal. There once was a time when humans dominated the game of basketball. But times have changed, and now the physically superior alien players have taken over the game, and there are barely any human players left. But Hideyoshi's team-the first all-human team to compete in the Space League-intends to change all that, and bring the championship back home to Earth.

It's the most boring thing that has ever been boring ever, and I know boring.
Where in god’s green earth did my time go?

Buzzer Beater is only 13 episodes, so you’d think this series would go by decently fast. I mean, it’s only 5 hours and 12 minutes (including OP’s and ED’s) so it’s nothing, no?

HA HA, YOU’D WISH! YOU’D FUCKING WISH! HAVE FUN WATCHING THE MOST BORING SLOP GARBAGE THERE IS TO FIND! WHAT, YOU WANNA HAVE FUN? HELL NO, NOT HERE!

Look, I always try to find something good about the series I watch. You know, I don’t like throwing away my time for nothing, so I try to find things I like about an anime. Hell, even some godawful anime that I had the displeasure of watching were at least interesting. This though, good fucking god, it has nothing. Art? Looks ass most of the time. Animation? It has some decent moments where it looks more smooth than it has any right to (I suspect rotoscoping, which isn’t appalling and I’m happy they did it because at least something moved because of it, but still) but the rest still looks ass in one way or another. Maybe the music can save it? hell no! only the OP is somewhat passable at times and even that stops helping when you hear it like 3 or 4 times every single EPISODE. Direction? Cinematography? Was is able to at least look interesting? Who am I kidding, hell no.

But hey, those are all surface level things. Sure, they can make a good story even better, and they can make a bad story at least watchable, but they’re accessories. So, the story itself? The characters? Maybe they’re good?

HA HA, WRONG AGAIN! Man, you really need to stop it with these jokes, you’re cracking me up.

Every character was fucking one note, except the main character. Speaking of, Hideyoshi, how fucking annoying can you BE? Literally ALL he does is just scream, and when he doesn’t and there is a sliver of any backstory given to him he EVEN FUCKING SCREAMS THERE, like come on is it SO hard to shut your fucking MOUTH?

The story was nothing to remember either. “basketball, but humans cannot fight against the genetically stronger aliens so we make a team of the strongest players the humans have to offer to try and fight back” sounds good in theory, but in practice it’s some random motherfuckers where most of them barely even PLAYED anymore, a STREET RAT, and the club CEO’s GRANDDAUGHTER. And then everything is all OVER the place as well, like come ON get a GRIP please.

Episode 13, the last episode, had so much potential to not only be good and maybe save even a sliver of enjoyment I could get out of the series/make me even want to give the sequel a shot, but alas. It started off as an alright idea, then it just became stupid, more stupid, more stupid, add a horrendous joke, and poof the entire thing just gets pushed out of the window again.

Please, PLEASE don’t watch this if you value your time. The worst thing about it is that it’s so infuriatingly nothing that I can’t even enjoy it as a dumpster fire. It’s so mediocre that it becomes dogshit. It’s so forgettable that I won’t be able to stop hating it, because it is one of the first anime where the only thing on my mind is “I just wasted 5 hours of my life, I will never get those back.”
